Saggar Pottery

Saggar fired pottery is unique in surface textures and colors. A saggar is a box or chamber inside the kiln which allow the one or a few pieces to be fired without influence from the other pieces and flames in the kiln. In the final firing pots are swathed in organic materials and placed in the chamber. Burning slowly the flames fume the surface causing exciting variations in color and one of a kind results. Saggar pots are not for food and are not waterproof.
